Thanksgiving 07'

Jake, James and myself headed to Fenton, MI to celebrate Thanksgiving with Jake's family. We left Tuesday night @ 8p.m. and drove 5 hours to Lexington, Kentucky where we stayed for the night. James was perfect in the car, he slept the entire way except to nurse once as a rest-stop. We then spent all of Wednesday driving the rest of the trip. Again James was spot-on, playing eating and sleeping. He had a better schedule in the car then he does at home. ; )

It was a really nice trip. We got to see many of Jake's family, including James' one and only Great Grandmother Nova-Jean as well as many high school friends. We stayed with his brother Eric in his cute little house in Fenton. Thanksgiving was wonderful...we ate entirely way too much food and it snowed!! Jake and I have not seen snow fall in two years so it was a real treat!!! We left Sunday early morning and did the entire drive in one day. It was a bit tiring but we made it back around 9:30 that night.

More and more everyday Jake and I realize just how amazing being parents are and how wonderful and supportive our families are. We are so thankful for the health of our little boy and for the amazing love we have for each other.

Bathtime

So apparently Jake had some fun with James last week during one of his baths...the pictures say it all.....

Beantown!!!

James and I took our very first mommy~son trip to visit my family in MA a couple of weeks ago. I was a little anxious traveling alone with James but he could not have been more perfect - both flights! He played with some toys, smiled at the other passengers, ate some lunch and napped for an hour on my lap.
We were in MA for only 5 days but we got to visit with so many friends and family. We surprised my Auntie Diane for her birthday the first night we were there....it was great! We had a playdate with Jessica and her daughters Norah & Julia. James met my cousins...close family friends and his Godparents It was a very special trip. We are looking forward to returning in December for his Christening and Dean & Deanna's wedding.

~Good Eats Fans~

So today, my Gross Anatomy class was canceled and I am SOOO glad it was.

Instead of heading home I decided to go to Harry's Whole Foods to pick up a few things. Well much to my surprise one of my favorite t.v. stars Alton Brown (from the Food Network t.v. show Good Eats) was filming there. He lives in Marietta but only shoots at this location once a year. I hung around for about an hour and watched what goes on behind the scenes. When they were done I asked Mr. Brown for a photo and an autograph for my good friends Seth & Bre (they are HUGE fans!!)

What a fun afternoon!
