Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus

We went to the circus this Sunday and it was SO much fun!  Debbie & Nicky took Jake, James & myself for a Valentine's Day gift.  The show was really great and James definitely got his fill.  We had awesome seats only 8 or so rows from the floor.   We indulged in nasty but tasty circus food, took pictures, laughed like crazy and really had a wonderful family day!

This pretty much sums up James' face the entire time.."oh my goodness!!!!"

This cage had 7 motorcycles in it a once...CRAZY!!!

Potty-time

The things parents get excited over when you have a child is so funny.  Jake and I are so proud of James.  His has been very excited about going potty for us.  We have made it part of our nightly routine and as of the last week or so, every-time he sits on his potty he pees!  And as of recent he will ask us to go.  It is so amazing!!!!  We have been approaching this very casually and making it fun, reading stories and singing songs.  Jake's parents have also taken time with James as well!

Every day we are amazed by James.  Not only is he using the potty, but his vocabulary has EXPLODED.  There are new words coming out of his mouth every day.

Here is what James says to name a few;
mommy, daddy, papa, granna (grandma), yaya, no, cold, hot, wow, birdie, shoe, sock, car, rain, run, dino, kitty, cup, cheers, please, thank you, buberries (blueberries), pooh (Winnie the pooh), why (superwhy), Elmo, Grover, Bert, Ernie, pee pee, poop, potty, tub, soap, hair, nose, mouth, ear, eye, teeth, o (as in the letter "O"), gasses (glasses), he we go ("here we go"), got it, tail, fox, cow, goat, goose, owl, hop (grasshopper), baa ( ladybug), self (for his book, "All By Myself"), fower (flower)...and the list goes on and on!!!!

He is a little boy...so independent, exploratory, creative and so loving!

The other night I had to capture him on the potty..too cute!  James HAD to capture me watching him on the potty.  I got to give him credit...he took some good pictures. He takes after his Papou already ; )

Finally a haircut!

Last night Jake and I decided to finally give James a haircut...ok...more like a hair trim.   It was quite the experience to say the least.  James was already tired from a busy day and wanted to play with dinosaurs.  We were determined to get it done especially since it had taken us so long to decide to do this.  Needless to say....there were some tears. In the end...he looked adorable!

Our handsome boy - 19 months old!

I had to take a few pictures of James today.  After we got back from church he looked just so handsome and his spirit so bright.  It is hard to believe he will be 2 years old in 5 months.  Everyday he amazes Jake and I with how much he is speaking (close to 75 words at least!!!), he has started peeing in the potty, and he loves with his entire heart.  We are just so proud of our little boy!

Music Class

Last week I brought James to a wonderful music class just up the street from our house.  It is called Miss Lala's Treehouse and we had a blast...thus the few pictures.  It was very interactive with Lala the teacher and mom's and children.  I am hoping to bring James every week.

Jake's 26th Birthday

January 11th was Jake's 26th birthday.  We had a wonderful day as a family.  We started the day with a yummy breakfast.  After James' nap we headed to Jake's favorite place in Atlanta - the Aquarium!  We had a blast there!! James really enjoyed running around yelling fish - fish!  After that we headed home to get ready for dinner.  I took Jake to Sal Grosso a fantastic Portuguese restaurant.  The food was amazing and so was the service.  We ended Jake's birthday with his parents and ice cream cake.  It was a really nice day!
