Memorial Day Weekend

We are so fortunate for our wonderful friends Stefanie, her son Jake and her parents for inviting us to stay with them in warm and sunny Niceville Florida this long weekend. We arrived late Friday night after a long ride through heavy traffic and nasty storms. James slept most of the trip so that was a relief. We also had our amazing friend Valerie in the back seat helping out with James!
It was such an awesome weekend. We went to the beach, we went shopping, ate out, swam in their pool and relaxed at night while the boys slept. It was great seeing Baby Jake and James play together. They really enjoyed each others company. It was also wonderful spending quality time with Stefanie. I have missed her dearly since she moved back to Florida. It was a total recharge from the stressful midterm schedule we had. It definitely gave us the little edge we need to blow through the remainder of the quarter! Thank you Stefanie, Jake and Mr. & Mrs. Werner for welcoming us into your beautiful home. We are blessed to have such wonderful friends like you and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

James wanted to feed baby Jake so badly!!!

Marietta Greek Festival ~ OPA!!!

This Saturday night Jake, James and myself along with a bunch of our friends had an awesome time at the Marietta Greek Festival. It is a huge event since there are only a few Greek Church's in the Atlanta area. We ate some fantastic food, shopped in the Agora, indulged in WAY too may Greek desserts, watched the young dance group and listened to a live Greek band. It was a perfect evening and our friends really enjoyed being submerged in Greek culture for a night. I really enjoyed myself because it always brings me close to my daddy and having James there to hear and clap his hands to the music was very special.
We didn't get home until almost 11:30 and of course James was a perfect baby....we are so blessed!!!

Yummy Apple Butter

On Mother's Day we took home the biscuit from The Flying Biscuit. (as you saw in the other post I had already eaten WAY too much food!)
I enjoyed the biscuit with the apple butter spread and when I was done I put the apple butter container in the box the biscuit came in and gave it to Jame to play with. (kind of like a rattle).
I left the room to go talk to Jake in the kitchen. We noticed it had gotten pretty silent so we peaked around the corner to find James LICKING the apple butter container!!! He made his way into the box and indulged in the wonderful sweet treat. I only wished we had captured in it on camera.

We did get the aftermath....me taking the apple butter away from him....pretty funny!!!

First Mother's Day

I have the most amazing fiancé and son! My first Mother's day was such a wonderful day and I have my boys to thank for that!
The day started by sleeping in a bit. Jake woke me up to James all ready for the day. As I got ready, Jake came into the bathroom with James in one hand a card in the other. James also had something in his hand. It was a little green sack. I first read the card and of course Jake's sentiments were so sweet. I then opened the sack and in it was a gorgeous set of Turquoise jewelry. The necklace and earrings are stunning!!! We headed to The Flyng Biscuit for an AWESOME brunch. James fell asleep in the stroller while we waited and awoke just as brunch was ending. We then headed over to Marietta Square for a smoothie and a relaxing walk.
Jake had to spend the late afternoon studying, so James and I stayed home and played and I studied (a bit).
It was such a special day and I am so fortunate to have Jake and James love me like they do.

I had 2 breakfasts..and they were GOOD!!!

After Jake fed James!

We ended the day with a warm bath and some cuddle time.

Lunch with Abby & Alexis

My friend Abby and I have been trying to make a habit of having lunch together every Thursday afternoon. Abby is also in the D.C. program at Life and has an adorable 6 month old girl named Alexis. We either meet at Life Grocery CafĂ© ( we LOVE it there!), at the park or each other’s homes for lunch. We went to their home 2 weeks ago for a fantastic lunch. Unfortunately, Alexis went down for a early nap and we didn’t get to see her for too long. James had fun playing with Alexis’ toys while Abby and I chatted away!

James played for the first time in an activity center while listening to Shakira. We're not sure which he liked better..the jumpy toy or Shakira!!!

Dinner with Megan & Hailey

2 Friday’s ago, we had a great night with Megan and Hailey - friends from school! Megan and Hailey have been study friends so it was nice to have fun outside of school for a change. We had dinner at the Marietta Pizza company (awesome pizza!!), walked around the square for a bit and ended the night with ice-cream. This was the first time we had kept James out really late without him falling asleep in the stroller. To no surprise he was a perfect little baby, never fussing once!

**Welcome Evelyn Marie Rollins**

Our dear friends Gary & Lisette Rollins gave birth to Evelyn Marie on April 21st, 2008
Weighing a mere 4lbs. 10 oz. And 16 ¾ in. long, Evelyn entered this world almost a month early. Lisette had gone into labor on multiple occasions and was hospitalized for 2 weeks during her last trimester. We are so blessed to have Evelyn here safe and healthy as well as mom.
Welcome Evelyn Marie….we love you and are so glad you are finally here!!!

Meeting Baby Jake

We were so lucky that our friend Stephanie and her son Jake stopped by to see us a couple of weeks ago. Stephanie gave birth to Jake on Christmas Day last year and this was the first time we got to meet him. It was a short visit since they were just stopping in ATL. for the night, but we are so glad they took the time to see us. We are also VERY excited because we will be traveling to Niceville, Florida to stay with Stephanie and Jake this upcoming long weekend.

Yaya's Visit - April 23rd - 29th

My mom came to visit us for the Easter Orthodox Easter. She had not been here since last September so it was so great having her visit! Yaya was here for a full week and we took advantage of every minute. We baked Easter bread, went to church, visited with Dr. Linda our Chiropractor from Burlington, MA and her daughter Caroline, made an amazing Easter dinner, went shopping, colored Easter eggs and spent great quality time together. James also got to spend lots of time with Yaya while Jake and I were in classes. They enjoyed being together! It was a perfect visit and although we were so sad to see her leave, we felt so fortunate to celebrate James' first Greek Easter together.
Mom we love you. Thank you for making this Easter so very special!!!
